 Preposition এর ব্যবহার লিখ?

নিম্নে বিভিন্ন Preposition এর ব্যবহারের নিয়ম আলোচনা করা হলোঃ

a. Dimension বা মাত্রা বুঝাতে:

উপরে=on/upon, নিচে=under, নিকটে=near, পাশে=by/beside, মধ্যে=in, বাহিরে=out.

b. Mode of action বা কাজের ধরন বুঝাতে: Mode দুই ধরনের।

1.Non movement বা স্থিতি:

মধ্যে=in/inside

He is in the garden.

She is inside the wall.

এ=at

He is at the school now.

পাশে=by/beside

He is by/beside me.

নিচে=below/under

He is below me in the class.

উপরে=on/above

The fan is above my head.

2.Movement বা গতি:

মধ্যেদিয়ে=through

He ran through the garden.

বাহিরে থেকে ভিতরে=into

She went into the room.

দিকে বা থেকে=to/from

He has come from Dhaka but I am going to Rajshahi.

পাশ দিয়ে=by/past

He walked by/past me.

নিচ দিয়ে=under

The cat went away under the table.

উপর ‍দিয়ে=over

The cat jumped over the table.

C. Relative Position বা আপেক্ষিক স্থিতি বুঝাতে:

উপরে=above, নিচে=under/below, পাশে=by/beside, সামনে=in front of, পিছনে=behind, চুড়ায়=on the to of, তলা ছুয়ে=beneath/underneath.

The ball is on the top of the stick.

The ball is beneath/underneath the stick.

D. Resultative Meaning ফলাফল বুঝাতে:

বিড়ালটি বেড়াটির ওপার চলে গেল।

The cat has already been over the fence.

E. Direction বা দিক বুঝাতে:

অতিক্রম করে=beyond, পেছন দিকে=behind, বরাবর/সোজা=along, উপরের দিকে=up, চারিদিকে=around, নিচের দিকে=down, দিকে/অভিমুখে=towards

এ তার ক্ষমতার বাহিরে= This is beyond his capability.

পেছনের দিকে তাকাও= Look behind yourself.

মসজিদের দিকে যাও= Go towards the mosque.

F. Pervasive Meaning (ব্যপ্তিবোধক):

তল বুঝাতে all over ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

সারা পৃথিবীতে কুকুর পাওয়া।

Dogs are found all over the country.

ঘনক বুঝাতে all through ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

সারা দেশে ম্যালেরিয়া দেখা দিয়েছে।

Malaria has broken out all through the country.

G. Relation (সম্পর্ক্):

1. উপকরন বস্তুগত, মানসিক প্রাক্রিয়া বুঝালে with বসে। যেমন:

ঐ লাঠিটা দিয়ে সাপটি মার।

Kill the snake with that stick.

আন্তরিকতার সাথে কাজটি কর।

Do the work with sincerity.

2. উপকরন (অংগের নাম,যন্ত্রের নাম) রচয়িতার নাম যোগাযোগের মাধ্যম বা কাজের সম্পর্ক্ বুঝাতে by ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

ইহা হাতে তৈরী।

It is made by hand.

ঐ মেশিন দ্বারা উৎপাদন সম্ভব।

Production is possible by that machine.

এটি নজরুলের লেখা একটি কবিতা।

It is poem by Nazrul.

সে বাসে করে রংপুর গিয়াছে।

She has gone to Rangpur by bus.

3. কোন উপকরনের উপর ভর করে কিছু করা বুঝালে on বসে। যেমন:

আমি পায়ে হেঁটে স্কুলে যাই।

I go to school on foot

H. Purpose(উদ্দেশ্য):

1. উদ্দেশ্যে বা জন্যে অর্থ্ বুঝালে for ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

আমি আমার জন্য ফুলটি কিনেছি।

I have bought the flower for myself.

সে বাড়ীর উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা হল।

He started for home.

2. কারো উদ্দেশ্যে বলা, পড়া, লেখা বা কিছু করা বুঝালে to ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন:

আমাকে খবরটি পড়ে শোনাও।

Read the news to me.

বলটি আমার কাছে নিক্ষেপ কর।

Throw the ball to me.

3. কাউকে উদ্দেশ্য করে কিছু বলা বা করা বুঝালে verb এর সাথে at বা after বসে। যেমন: গরিব লোকটাকে দেখে ঠাট্টা করো না।

Do not laugh at the poor.

বিড়ালটি ইদুরটির পেছনে ছুটল।

The cat ran after the rat.

I. Source/Orgin (উৎস):

তার কাছ থেকে কোন সাহায্য আসেনি।

No help has come from her.

J. Goal/target (গন্তব্য):

সে পাখিটা কে তাক করল।

He aimed at the bird.

সে বালকটিকে বকাঝকা করল।

She shouted at the boy.

Note: অপ্রিয় কোন উদ্দেশ্য বুঝাতে at বসে। এরুপ উদ্দেশ্য না হলে to বসে।

সে চি‍ৎকার করে কথা বলছিল যাতে বালকটি শুনতে পায়।

He shouted to the boy. (উদ্দেশ্য তথ্য জ্ঞাপন, বকাঝকা নয়)

সুমন আমাকে বলটি দিল।(উদ্দেশ্য পৌছে দেওয়া, আঘাত করা নয়)

Sumon threw the ball to me.

K. Ingredient(প্রস্তুতকারী উপাদান)and Material (কাঁচামাল):

এই পিঠা ডিম দিয়ে তৈরী। The cake is made with egg.

এই ঝুড়িটি বাঁশ দিয়ে তৈরী। This basket is made of bamboo.

এই কাগজ বাঁশ দিয়ে তৈরী। This paper is made from bamboo.

L. Measurement(পরিমান):

1. যে মাপে ক্রয় বিক্রয় করা হয় এবং সময়ের যে পরিমাপ অনুসারে বেতন প্রদান করা হয়, তা বুঝাতে by ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন: Cloth is sold by foot. He is paid by month.

2. ক্ষেত্রফল বুঝাতে দৈর্ঘ্য এবং প্রস্থ উল্লেখ করা হলে, প্রস্থের মাপের আগে by এবং ঘনবস্তুর একই ভাবে প্রস্থ ও উচ্চতার মাপের আগে by বসে। যেমন:

This room is 10 feet by 10 feet.

Yhe box is 10 feet by 10 feet by 7 feet.

3. তুলনামুলক পাথর্ক্য, অর্থাৎ একটি থেকে অন্যটি কতটুকু ভারী, লম্বা, বড় ইত্যাদি বুঝাতে by ব্যকহৃত হয়। যেমন: Sumon is senior to me by five years. I am junior to Sumon by five years. That stick is short by two inches. I am short by ten taka, can you give me about that much. Your dress is overcharged by fifty taka.
